Smarter Shipping Methods

Been looking for flexible shipping plugins to accomodate all my partners specific needs and this plugin is great. Took me about 10 minutes to install. Documentation is pretty clear. I love that you can apply the methods across categories & SKU ranges - very powerful. We work partially in drop shipping and partially in our own distributed products and this really hits the mark. Thanks so much for the great product. Would love to have an option to have an incremental flat rate on a single item or sku range, eg $5 for the first book and $2 for each additional, other items free shipping, other items incremental on some other schema, etc. Once again thank you. After installation, it was pretty easy to configure and write the shipping data with little bit of design changes on our available.phtml file.

Installation was simple and fast. User Manual was very helpful in installation and helped me in locating the where the files need to be placed.

- What you like about the extension / How it improves your webshop?

This extension is very useful in making decision with customization of shipping methods. It would have taken us almost a month to figure out all the necessary tweaks required for introducing the permutations and combinations.

It improves my webshop, where the shipping method can be selected based on cart size.

I would like to have seen some customization on the labeling part. Other than that it is a good extension. (Posted on 1/7/13)

This is a great product. Installation was easy though I would recommend the ability to just copy 1 file across to the server instead of having to install several files but really, it's was easy.

The configuration is intuitive but powerful - you can basically configure mutliple delivery methods by price, country, order, items etc etc and set price breaks and other restrictions or options.

The documentation is far more comprehensive than most extensions I've purchased (and I've purchased a few!!). Installation guide was straight forward and the user guide has screen shots and explains all fields - again, not something most bother doing!

Most importantly though this extension allows me to offer a set of shipping methods that suits my customer needs - whether free hsipping based on value or expedited shipping or specialist couriers based on weight/categories etc. Eg we have some glass bottle products so we can put them in a special category and ensure an order with those products in them goes by a courier that deals with glass.

Fantastic module, this is exactly what we've been looking for as we had been having problems trying to add additional shipping methods.

Installation was simple and really easy to set up the shipping options. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to offer customers more shipping options (tracking, signature upon delivery etc).

This product really helped fill in the void we found when we moved from Zen cart to Magento. I found Magento default shipping options really lacking and couldn't find any extension that would cater to what we needed and could be flexible.

Then we found the smarter shipping methods and it really stepped in and filled the need we had.

Installing this was really easy and didn't have to troubleshoot at all.

Once installed configuring the shipping module was really easy, with it i was able to configure almost 20 different shipping options, each one catering to different products, regions and price rules. This was what we really needed for our store, the ability to make multiple shipping rules on the fly. Everything else we had found till now was simply not as easy to use or didn't allow for multiple rules.

This is now the only shipping module we use and i don't plan on using any other on our store in the near future.

Great extension which i recommend to those that want a much more flexible and robust shipping module.

What a great product! We needed a solution to leverage multiple flat rate shipping options (our client doesn't ship by weight...instead they have 3 shipping options...Ground, 2nd Day and Next Day Air, at the same price, no matter the size of order). Before Xogenics Smarter Shipping Methods, we had previously spent too much time to admit hacking the checkout form files up to manipulate the Flat Rate feature Magento offers out-of-the-box. I wish we had found Smarter Shipping Methods sooner. The installation was pretty simple. While it would have been easier to install via Magento Connect Manager, their instructions are very straightforward and you just have to pay attention to which files go where within your directory structure. Their user manual is just as easy to use and has several use-case scenarios to see how many different shipping options it can handle. In the end, we couldn't be happier with this product. Between installation of the extension files and configuration within the Magento admin, it took less than 20 minutes for us to get our shipping options up and running! (Posted on 5/1/12)

I've been looking for a module that's easy to use and expandable. Smarter Shipping Methods from Xogenics is just that. From the clear install instructions, which may companies don't give or charge for is a pleasure. The modular table view for creating the shipping options is great and the ability to apply combinations with codes is a good idea. I've tried other shipping modules and nothing comes near this. Not having to play around with spreadsheets and table's is a breeze. Highly recommend this product. (Posted on 3/28/12)

I had been looking for a while to find a solution to our particular shipping method needs, specifically we offer free shipping to all orders in the USA, and to overseas orders that are above a certain amount. I tried a lot of different solutions, and none really worked right. Smarter Shipping Methods is perfect! It installed easily, and I had my shipping methods added and working within a just a few minutes... wish I had tried it first and saved all the time I wasted on others. The Xogenics staff was super-quick to answer questions, and they actually include documentation with their modules. Great stuff, excellent service, I'm a happy guy. (Posted on 3/21/12)

We have a very complicated product range from small items that can be posted in an envelope to large machines that are delivered by car carrier.
Some items are incredibly heavy for their size, and a lot are quite bulky.
Some of our suppliers will drop ship at no cost, others have fixed rates.
Shipping was proving to be a constant problem. Rarely did we cover costs.
Since installing Smarter Shipping Methods, I have created a new Category, added product, created a rule and now have a new shipping method.
It cannot get any easier than that.
This is a worthwhile extension.
To make it even better, we were quoted around 5 times the cost of this extension for a much more complicated method. (Posted on 1/26/12)

I am almost finished developing a new site and I am right at the point where you have to fine tune EVERYTHING and make sure all the little things work and that the client is happy etc etc. This extension has made my to-do list shorter. This product is exactly what I needed! It is very easy to make new shipping methods, so no table rate shipping is needed anymore, which was definitely a pain in the ass. Furthermore, this extension is very helpfull to support your promotional campaigns. Should I recommend this extension? Definitely yes. (Posted on 12/10/11)
